AI + Full-Stack Web Development

Build an accessible request lifecycle and server boundary before attaching inference.

Before you start

  • JavaScript fundamentals and basic HTML. The linked course provides a path into React and routing.

The reading and planning exercises need no paid course or API. Optional inference, training, IDE features and hosted services may require hardware, accounts or paid access. Use the local or manual alternative before spending money.

Start with the official learning material

Free-to-read references checked 3 November 2026. Reading documentation does not activate a provider or create a subscription.

Practice with a concrete exercise

  1. 1. Build a small routed page

Follow the appropriate React/Next.js learning chapters. Create a page with a labeled input and a submit action. Add visible empty, loading, success and error states using deterministic local responses. Label those responses as fixtures.

  2. 2. Move inference behind the server

Define a validated request body and error contract. Keep provider credentials out of browser code. For the no-fee route, connect a local model through your server after the interface works.

  3. 3. Exercise the complete interaction

Test keyboard submission, cancellation, a slow response, server failure and repeated submission. Check a narrow viewport and that focus remains useful after errors. Record which browser/device checks were actually performed.

Check what you learned

  • No secret is present in the browser bundle or request URL.
  • Loading/error transitions remain recoverable.
  • Real model output and deterministic fixtures are clearly distinguished.

Keep your artifact, observed checks and remaining limitations in a short README. Mark any exercise you only designed rather than executed.
